Conflux Technology Secures $11 Million in Series B Funding to Advance Heat Exchange Innovations

Funding will enhance additive manufacturing capabilities and support global customer expansion

Conflux Technology, a pioneering leader in heat transfer and additive manufacturing, has successfully raised $11 million in Series B funding. This round was spearheaded by Breakthrough Victoria, with notable contributions from AM Ventures and Acorn Capital. The investment is intended to further enhance Conflux's technological advancements and expand customer support on a global scale.

With its innovative heat exchangers designed for a variety of industries, Conflux Technology is addressing critical limitations in traditional heat exchange methods. The company specializes in creating lighter, more compact heat exchangers that can be customized to fit unique geometries. Utilizing additive manufacturing techniques, Conflux is capable of producing high-performance heat exchangers as a single component, thereby reducing production time, material waste, and energy consumption while also minimizing environmental impact.

“Our mission at Conflux Technology is centered around improving efficiency through superior heat transfer performance and reducing weight in critical devices,” said Michael Fuller, Founder and CEO of Conflux Technology. “This funding will allow us to accelerate product development and expand our support network for customers around the globe.”

Advancing Manufacturing Capabilities

The capital raised will be strategically allocated to expedite the development of Conflux Production Systems (CPS). This advanced manufacturing solution aims to automate the production of complex additive manufacturing structures, effectively replacing traditional heat exchanger manufacturing processes. By doing so, CPS is designed to mitigate supply chain risks, enhance operational efficiency, and streamline production workflows.

“Investing in Conflux represents our commitment to fostering sustainable innovation and efficiency,” said Grant Dooley, CEO of Breakthrough Victoria. He further emphasized the significance of this investment in supporting sustainable job creation and recognizing the remarkable innovations emerging from Australia.

Conflux Technology has earned a strong reputation across diverse sectors, including motorsports, high-powered industrial machinery, hydrogen, e-mobility, and defense. The latest funding will not only facilitate expansion efforts but also enhance collaborations with industry leaders, such as the partnership with Odys Aviation. This collaboration aims to develop the next generation of regional Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft, leveraging Conflux’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to create a heat recuperator turbogenerator solution that seamlessly integrates with existing aerospace turbines.

Redefining Aviation Capabilities

The joint effort with Odys Aviation will target a significant reduction in fuel consumption—by more than 40%—through innovative design and performance enhancements. The project will focus on creating a heat recuperator that reduces weight while maximizing the efficiency of the turbo generator system. Odys Aviation’s upcoming aircraft, ‘Laila,’ which features a wingspan of 21 feet and is adaptable for various configurations, aims to achieve a range of 450 miles with payload capacities of up to 130 pounds.

“Conflux's expertise in additive manufacturing and metal 3D printing is breaking down traditional design barriers,” remarked James Dorris, Co-Founder and CEO of Odys. “This collaboration allows us to create geometrically complex and performance-optimized designs that ultimately result in longer-range and higher-payload aircraft. We are thrilled to partner with Conflux to redefine the capabilities of VTOL UAS systems.”

Fuller reiterated the company’s commitment to advancing the next generation of aviation technology, highlighting their goal to empower innovators within the sector. “We’re dedicated to providing our customers, like Odys Aviation, with the necessary tools to drive advancements in sustainable aviation and enhance the efficiency of their aircraft,” he stated.

Looking Ahead

Conflux Technology is currently addressing a global market worth $6 billion for heat exchangers. With this latest round of funding, the company is poised for further growth through new partnerships and product developments that will be announced in the near future. Conflux aims to not only innovate its heat exchanger designs but also optimize the manufacturing processes to enable customers to produce these solutions locally. This approach is intended to facilitate quick production and foster ongoing growth.

As the company continues its trajectory of expansion and innovation, Conflux Technology remains focused on meeting the evolving needs of its customers while playing a vital role in the global effort to achieve net-zero emissions through cutting-edge heat exchange solutions.

Conflux Technology’s recent $11 million funding success underscores the growing recognition of its innovative capabilities and commitment to sustainability within the manufacturing sector. With significant advancements on the horizon, Conflux is set to play a crucial role in transforming heat exchange technologies while driving positive environmental impacts across various industries.
